Residential Solar

Generate - Store - Charge - Use

We help homeowners to generate their own energy, store surplus energy, reduce their consumption and provide power for their electric cars.

Residential solar solutions
In the post Feed-in Tariff world we have seen panel prices fall and an increase in great battery solutions with customers now interested more than ever in generating and using their own power to reduce their energy costs.  Combing solar with battery storage such as the Tesla Powerwall and switching to smart energy tariffs that allow for low cost off-peak charging is helping our customers to dramatically cut their energy bills and giving them some back-up in case of a power cut.
Generate - a typical 5kWp PV system will generate around 4,500kWh a year which will save up to £675 a year on your energy bills (if 100% is used and based on 15p per kWh), giving you energy independence and reducing your CO2 emisions.  Excess energy can be sold back to the grid at up to 5.5p per kWh.
Store - The best way to get the most out of any solar PV system is to include a battery such as the Tesla Powerwall.  This will store excess energy that is generated during the middle of the day for use in the evening, ensuring that most of the power is used for maximum savings.  If you still generate more than you can store there are also options to add more batteries or use it to heat up your hot water.  The batteries that we install also allow off-peak charging, which means that the homeowner or business can switch to a tariff with off-peak rates and charge up from as low as 5p a kWh (even lower if you switch to the Octopus Agile tariff) and use the power during the day when rates are higher.  Great in the winter when there is less solar energy available.
Charge - We install charging points for the rapidly growing electric market.
Use - From installing SolarEdge inverters and Tesla Powerwalls our customers get better monitoring of not only their solar production but also how much power their house or business is using and how much is being imported from the grid.  This has often led our customers to not only change their consumption habits to maximise the use of the available solar energy, but also led them to reduce their energy use by identifying where and when their power is being consumed.
Why Electec?
We have been MCS accredited solar PV installers since 2010 and have been involved in over 5MW of installed residential and commercial solar from small new builds up to 500kWp + solar installations.  We have great solutions for every roof and all of our installations are done by our own team of in-house installers.
We are Tesla Powerwall certified installers and also install other batteries and have a variety of solutions to really help you maximise your consumption and return on investment.
SolaSkirt - making solar look good - We are also installers of SolaSkirt, a great solution to the problem of pigeons that not only keeps birds out but also gives a great sleek finish to any on-roof solar PV system.
